Winter has set in…

We had another couple inches of lake effect snow on Sunday, so was beautiful when the sun came out on Monday. I cleared the porches with my new shovel, then, since I was well bundled up, sat on the front steps to have a cup of tea and relax. Seemed more appropriate than turning the computer on.

Listening to silence, like viewing the stars at night is a country treat. I thought I heard wild geese when I was out on Monday, but couldn’t see any. I saw a pair of juncoes in the birch tree. The jays and crows are still around, but I have had to go to my parent’s house to see chickadees.

Today we are under a winter storm advisory, supposed to be freezing rain, sleet, and snow, so decided to get on right after breakfast.
