spoiled milk

Not a happy camper this morning. I brewed a pot of tea as usual. I put a teaspoon of sugar into a mug and added the milk. When I poured the hot tea into the mug, the milk curdled. Sigh…

So, I am without my usual morning cuppa. I did pour the bit of tea left in the pot out and drank it. Nice, but not the same as a mug full.

Later comments

Later in the day as I was removing a casserole from the oven, I burnt my left hand. I could feel the pressure but not the heat, so ended up with a big blister. Moral: don’t change your caffeine dosage without a really good reason.

As a further note, spoiled milk is not the same as sour milk. Spoiling happens to pasteurized milk from foreign bacteria. Sour milk, like cultured buttermilk and yoghurt results from growth of friendly bacteria, usually some form of lactobacillus.
