Spring on the River

Yesterday the sky was clear but there was still a cool wind. All the signs of spring are here, the Forsythia bushes in Pere Marquette park were blooming and the daffodils have buds, should burst out in flower any day now. The other sure sign of spring is that people were out riding their nice Harleys. You know summer is here though when the convertables come out.

I saw a number of pleasure boats on the river plus the Edelweiss, and rowers were training. Saw 4 and 8 crews.

On the way home I found a goose posing in the park. When a crew rowed by, couldn’t resist taking a photo.

These Canada geese are as ubiquitous as nomads! They leave their calling cards for all and sundry! You really have to watch where you walk in Stanley Park in Vancouver, British Columbia!

Did you know that there are Lesser and Greater species of Canada geese and the Greater Canada geese can weigh 25 lbs or more?

If you look carefully in the lower section of the photo, you will see some of the droppings, er calling cards, on the cement.
