toy story

small dog curled up with wooly toy

Wild Thing is back with Atticus following emergency surgery early this morning to repair a ruptured back seam. The injury was discovered last night, after which he spent a quiet night on a high shelf, much to Atticus’ disappointment.

No stuffing was lost and the internal squeaker is still functional. Except for a couple threadbare patches Wild Thing looks none the worse for wear.

Glad he likes his widdle wild thing.

There are three components to this toy’s name: (1) the Troggs’s song (2) Maurice Sendak’s book (3) the Wildlings on HBO’s Game of Thrones. Cute toy!

I recently adopted a dog that looks very similar to yours. I am having trouble figuring out his breed. Have you any idea what he is?

    • Kathy says:

Atticus is adopted too, from Orphans of the Storm in Kittanning PA. They were sure that he had a lot of Shih Tzu and suspected he is part terrier. He is just over 9 lbs so it must be a smaller breed terrier. His face is brown and when I groom him with a topknot he looks like a Yorkie. That is two years of fur growth on the little guy and no seasonal shedding. He was shaved because of matted fur at the shelter and was quite dark instead of silvery like he is now.

He shows some terrier personality, loves to “kill” his kibble and is an absolute terror with toys. But then he has a lot of lap dog characteristics too.

So glad you were able to adopt your dog. Hope that he brings you as much joy as Atticus has for me.
