summer in January

Just finished eating lunch on the front porch, wore a baseball cap to keep the sun out of my eyes and took off my sweater, then rolled up my sleeves to cool off. It is to snow tomorrow, so am planning to get the rollator out and walk down the road to the pond when I finish here. Saw some different birds at the feeder today, looked like warblers.

This has been a crazy but eventful week.

The weather was quite good on Monday morning, mild but windy, very invigorating. After hanging out laundry, I started moving things around when I was interrupted by my dad at the door. He walked from their house with a page from the newspaper and some stamps. He was very happy the weather has been mild as he prefers to get his exercise outdoors. He showed me an ad for a 2000 Ford Windstar van, said it would be big enough to haul my scooter.

We went to see it, looked better than we expected, so, to make a long story short, I drove home with it that evening.

my \"new\" car

So, after many years of being a pedestrian, bike rider, roller blade skater, skiier, and public transit patron, I have my own ride.
