I know I will miss it here, but have looked at two small houses and the lower flat in a well-preserved Victorian house and have pretty much made a choice.

The first stop was for a follow up visit at the vet for Bode. His ears were clear and he was a very good dog too. After stopping to pick up a harness for him (recommendation from vet), we went on to Ford City and investigated the neighborhood of the house I looked at on Sunday. It was after singing in choir in Elderton and Kittanning, so I knew needed to look again when I was fresher.

Bode quickly discovered one of the advantages of living in town! He marked some turf and met the mailman, who was very nice and gave Bode a biscuit. I strolled around with the aid of the cane until my legs gave out. Discovered the Rails to Trails paved path (similar to the bike path system in Milwaukee) is a couple blocks away as is the town park and that the curbs were cut on most of the sidewalks so they should be accessible with my electric scooter. I haven’t really been able to use it since the move from Milwaukee.

I drove up the hill to Ford Cliff, then took Route 66 to Crooked Creek Reservoir. I drove around a bit, didn’t get out much as I was tired, but we did stop at an overlook (above). Ended up coming home by way of Shady Plain and Girty, lots of winding roads through forested valleys.

This morning it is clear again, but we had frost. I am hoping this will suffice as a rest day. Looking for a new place has been stressful and going around to look at places is exhausting. I have been in physical pain for over a week, but am hoping to be in the new place and to have some time to recover after Easter.

The daffodils have started to bloom and I have seen some crocuses and hyacinths in sheltered places.
